Frequently asked questionsabout EU project audit.

When is an EU project audit mandatory?

The obligation comes from the funding contract, not from accounting law. Most funders require an expenditure verification report with every reimbursement claim or at final reporting. Check the reporting section of your contract.

Can you audit a project you did not write yourselves?

Yes. We take on projects at any stage. Being independent of whoever wrote the project is in fact an advantage in the funder’s eyes.

What are financial corrections and how are they avoided?

These are amounts the funder withdraws or refuses to reimburse when it finds irregularities. Most stem from procurement procedures run incorrectly or from expenditure without complete supporting documents. They are avoided by checking before submission, not after.
